DEM2XYZN

Download DEM2XYZN.zip (41 Kb)

This utility dem2xyzn is meant as an alternative to Sol Katz's sdts2xyz by making the process a TWO step process." First run sdts2dem (also at http://www.cs.arizona.edu/topovista/sdts2dem.html... Gregg Townsends' util) then run dem2xyz.

Thanks to R. J. Lievsay, Arnold (Lievrjl@juno.com), MO for sharing this resource with The GeoCommunity.

DEM2XYZN Utility

From the author -- DEM2XYZN is a utility to convert "standard" dem data to x, y, z triples. This is a major revision and update of Michael Kling's (Rolla, MO) older program, dem2xyz4. The author has revised that utility with some help from a programer friend. It is designed to accept as input the NEW dem data format output from Gregg Townsend's upgrade of the late Sol Katz's (BLM) older conversion utility. Townsends program, SDTS2DEM, will handle the slightly changed format of the 24k dems now being distributed by the GeoCommunity Int., private vendor. If you previously used Sol Katz's sdts2xyz, Then you can now use BOTH of these utilities to do the job.
