Download SDTS2DEM.exe (Version 0.018: April 29, 2002)


Program notes & Updates:
  • now properly translate 10 x 10 meter grids that encode elevation values as integers. The new version also fixes an undercount of the number of "missing value" cells, and it skips the annoying "usually L0" question if xxxxCEL0.DDF exists.
  • handles the slightly different format of newly rebuilt files
  • handles files with floating-point elevation values
  • handles larger grids, specifically 10x10 meter quadrangles
  • runs correctly on big-endian architectures (e.g. Sun)
  • latest revision date, April 30, 2002

SDTS DEM to ArcView Grid Conversion Utility

From the author -- We have updated our ArcView SDTS to DEM conversion utility. Rather than make changes to Gregg Townsend's (and Sol Katz's) code and cut a new dll as we have done previously, we rewrote the ArcView avx to directly use Gregg's sdts2dem program. This is a little more kludgy than our cutting the code into a dll, but means any updates Gregg makes to the conversion code can be immediately run using our avx without a need to update the avx. The new avx can be found at our SDTS site: http://www.engineering.usu.edu/cee/faculty/dtarb/SDTSext.html
