NAME OF DATASET: AZROADS DATA TYPE: Vector;line DESCRIPTION OF CONTENT: U.S. Census Bureau street segments extracted from 1992 TIGER files. Contains enhanced street address ranges and zip codes beyond the 1990 TIGER files. This coverage was altered from the TIGER roads coverages that were recieved from ALRIS. Only the highways, major roads and a few minor roads were kept the rest were selected out. This coverage covers the entire state of Arizona, the seperate county coverages of the TIGER roads were edgematched and appended. FORMAT: Arc/Info DATA SIZE: Data Set Approximate Megabytes: Statewide HISTORY: Taken from the ALRIS coverage (STREETS) [Converted to ARC/INFO format from the final version of the 1992 U.S. Census TIGER Line files. The data were projected to UTM with a -3.2 million meter Northing offset and tiled by county into the TIGER library. NOTE:The data set distributed by the U of A has had the y-shift removed.] The seperate coverages (each representing a county) were edgematched and appended. Then reselect for the major roads, highways and some minor roads was done. The reselect was for CLASS (ALRIS Road Class Code) equal to 1 through 8. The processing of this coverage was originally done for the Arizona GOelogical Survey. There was only one added item MAPCODE.
