THE FOLLOWING IS THE ORIGINAL DATA DOCUMENTATION FROM ARIZONA LAND INFORMATION SYSTEM (ALRIS), PHOENIX ARIZONA, CONTACT NAME: RON HUETTNER ALRIS DATA DOCUMENTATION SEPTEMBER 1995 EDITED: 8/6/96 AT THE ADVANCED RESOURCE TECHNOLOGY LAB, THE UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA, TUCSON, ARIZONA. NAME OF DATA SET: LAND DATA TYPE: Vector;Polygon DESCRIPTION OF CONTENT: This data set contains a group of integrated data layers. These layers consist of Public Land Survey system data (Township,Range and Section), land ownership and county. FORMAT: Arc/Info DATA SIZE: Data Set 7.5" quad Approximate Megabytes : 71.7 .04 METHOD OF ACCESS: The data set is accessed through ARC/INFO's librarian. The library name is ALRIS and the layer name is LAND. A user friendly AML(Arc Macro Language) program for easy library data extraction is called LIBEXT.AML. HISTORY: The LAND data set was first started in 1984 with the last update in the spring 1988 by the Az. State Land Department - Forestry Division and ALRIS. The PLS data originated from the Department of Transportation (ADOT). The data was then projected into ARC/INFO format and edited using the procedures from the ASLD 'Land Status Map Digitizing Procedure' guide. The data set covers the entire state (Appendix A). MAINTENANCE: Annual maintenance of ownership data is maintained using a variety of state and federal agency source materials. Contact ALRIS for update status. PROJECTION: UTM (Zone 12 with -3.2 million meter Y shift(northing)) NOTE: The data set distributed by the U of A has had the y-shift removed.
