ALRIS DATA DOCUMENTATION SEPTEMBER 1995 EDITED: 8/6/96 AT THE ADVANCED RESOURCE TECHNOLOGY LAB, THE UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA, TUCSON, ARIZONA. NAME OF DATA SET: WILDERNESS DATA TYPE: Vector; Polygon DESCRIPTION OF CONTENT: This statewide data set includes Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service and Fish & Wildlife Service Riparian Natural Conservation areas, Wilderness Study areas and Wilderness or Primitive areas. FORMAT: Arc/Info DATA SIZE: Data Set 7.5" quad Approximate Megabytes : 1.4 .001 HISTORY: The current data set came from the Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Forest Service. We currently working with the National Park Service to obtain their wilderness areas. The map sources came from a variety of scales ranging from 1:24,000 to 1:100,000. MAINTENANCE: NONE PROJECTION: UTM (Zone 12 with -3.2 million meter Y shift(northing)) NOTE: The data set distributed by the U of A has had the y-shift removed.
