Source: Digitized from the Department of Land & Natural Resources, Division of Water and Land Development (DOWALD) folded paper Station Location maps, found in the 1983 open-file report 81-1056B, "Summary of Available Data on Surface Water," State of Hawaii, Vol. 3. The scale of the source maps varied by island, and were as follows:

Molokai, W. Maui and S.E. Maui at 1" = 1 mile (1:63,360) N.E. Maui at 25/32" = 1 mile (1:81,100.8) N. Oahu at 13/16" = 1 mile (1:77,981.5) S. Oahu at 15/16" = 1 mile (1:67,584) E. Hawaii at 25/32" = 2 miles (1:162,201.6) N.W. Hawaii at 13/16" = 2 miles (1:155,963) S.W. Hawaii at 15/16" = 2 miles (1:135,168)
